Transform Your Kitchen

The kitchen is probably the most utilized room of many homes. It is where daily meals are made and the place where everyone in the home gathers together to spend time around the table. Having a kitchen that you love makes all the difference in making it a place you want, not need to be. Kitchen renovations can be costly projects making it easy to push off, but there are many ways to give your kitchen a complete makeover on a budget.

Clear Away Clutter

The best way to start any kitchen makeover is to clear out any clutter. Throw away any visible junk laying around and put anything out of place back where it belongs. If your kitchen cabinets are messy don’t just toss more stuff in, try out some cabinet organization ideas to get the best use of the space. Removing all the excess clutter from the floor, counter tops and table will really open up the space. After all the clutter is gone, see if there is any cabinet space to put away small appliances that don’t need to stay on the countertop when not being used, like a blender. Having clear counters will make the room feel less stuffy and more enjoyable to prepare food or relax at the table with a cup of coffee.

Put Up a Fresh Coat of Paint

Now that the counters are clean, and the clutter has been removed it’s time to make some changes. An easy way to make a big difference is to put up a fresh coat of paint on the walls. If your kitchen cabinets are looking rundown there’s no need to replace them, a quick coat of paint will make all the difference. Then kick it up a notch and put up a beautiful backsplash. Installing a backsplash can be a costly project, but a great DIY idea is to try putting up your own peel and stick backsplash tiles. Putting up your own adhesive backsplash will only cost a fraction of what it would cost to have tile installed professionally. A fresh coat of paint and new backsplash will have your kitchen looking like new without going through a full renovation.

Get New Appliances

This is where things can get a bit pricey. Buying new appliances is not necessarily cheap to do, but there is a way to help with the cost. Instead of tossing out your current appliances, see if they can be sold and use that money towards purchasing new replacements. Find local spots like Canada Iron to sell old iron appliances like fridges and stoves. Not sure if your appliances are made of iron? The easiest way to find out if your appliance is made of iron is to see if a magnet will stick to it. A magnet will only stick to the appliance if it is made of iron.

Now all that’s left to do is enjoy your kitchen that was transformed without breaking the bank.
