AMARILLO, Texas – An active shooter and hostage situation was reported at a local Walmart in the Amarillo, Texas Tuesday morning.
There have been no reports of injuries or death at this time, but the incident is still unfolding.
1 to 3 Muslim Somalis dressed in Walmart uniforms are holding hostages at Walmart in Amarillo TX and SWAT is responding. Police are searching for a Somalian man wearing Khaki pants. The number of Somalis is unconfirmed.
The Twitter account of the city warned civilians to avoid a local Walmart due to an active shooter incident.

A local ABC 7 news team have confirmed the Amarillo Police Department are evacuating people out of the West side of the building. The shooter is believed to have taken hostages.

At this time we have NO confirmed gunshot victims at Wal-Mart. Officers are inside. No shooting ongoing at this moment.
A press conference was just held in the town Amarillo, which you can view here. A representative from the Amarillo Police Department spoke. From the press conference:
“Anybody that has been evacuated we’ll try to hold here to get more information.”
“I haven’t heard of any school lockdowns.”
Everyone has been evacuated from the building, and all of the employees are currently being interviewed. The SWAT team is on scene. Police are currently setting up Perimeter around Walmart and are holding all doors.

The police have tracked the license plate on the Amarillo Walmart Shooter’s car to a man named Mohammed. Also found Arabic letters in car.
UPDATE: 1:49 p.m. EST:
UPDATE 1:40 p.m. EST: “Off the record”, the gunman is dead and the hostage is safe. Police have confirmed via the Police Dispatch that the shooter is dead. Police confirm he is Arabic.
